While there are more and less severe sensitivities to gluten, yes, celiac disease is an intolerance to gluten… https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/6c4f108909073042c0d967c09388a5b01c740b9402acf4795687bfbe9ed3b10b.png

I am a chef who regularly prepares food for people who have celiac disease, and they eat grass and grain fed beef all the time. Clare Davis is correct, and the only attitude I see here is from lmurray and trash80. Understanding the basic science involved is good, knee jerk emotions are not in anyones best interest.

Yes, Lmurray is correct, mostly. The protein causing the immune response is gliadin, which is contained in gluten, so Clare Davis is almost correct, except for her attitude, which is way off. Suffer from celiac for a bit Clare before you go giving attude.

You need to understand the science. There are no whole proteins left. Just short chains of amino acids. Those will not affect you. It needs to be folded into the of its protein to affect people with Celiac.

Two totally different things. Someone with intolerance , the gluten may make them uncomfortable and in pain, but it will not damage their intestine. Someone with celiac, if they eat gluten it damages their intestine. Even 1 / 64 of a teaspoon… Every trace hurts us and it adds up.
